Cosas en Samway

Aunque el libro de Samway acabó fastidiándome, por sus planteamientos tan sesgados, tiene mucha información interesante:

1. Algo que no me esperaba, que FO'C coincidiese en Yaddo con Patricia Highsmith (22). 

2. Según Robert Giroux, el "intelecto de O'Connor era superior al de la gente con que trataba y lo sabía y no le afectaba, cosa rara, casi única en mi experiencia" (O’Connor’s “intellect was superior to all the people she was dealing with and she knew it and it didn’t bother her, that’s rare, almost a unique thing in my experience 50).

3. En una carta de una bibliotecaria, amiga de FOC, a Giroux, de marzo de 1949 le contaba que consiguió una beca que daba la Cummington Press. Me acuerdo de que vino a la biblioteca para que mirase a ver sobre Cummington, porque no podía ir allí, "a menos que fuese lo suficientemente grande como para tener una iglesia católica" porque no podía dejar de ir a Misa (she won a scholarship offered by the Cummington press. I remember she came up here to the library for me to look up something about Cummington for she couldn’t go there unless it was a large enough village to have a Catholic church for she could not miss going to Mass 123).
